Works like the proverbial charm aka "This is NOT another Revain Bravo Delta remote control "

Brand of ceiling fan this remote is used with: Hampton BayCaveat - This review is for a brand new factory remote with a fresh 9VDC battery. I have no data on durability or how well it will work after 3 years. The remote was well packaged, wrapped in bubble wrap and even comes with instructions. I can't remember the latest brand of ceiling fan remote I bought, but I had to put my finger halfway through the remote for it to work and then it was patchy at best. Okay, it was really pretty crappy and didn't work 94.7834721% of the time. This remote got me thinking because it didn't seem to turn on my ceiling fan's overhead light or stop the fan. Then I pulled my head out of my gym bag, measured the voltage on the 9VDC battery I was using (by licking the contacts at the top), and found that my battery was as weak as overcooked spaghetti noodles. Swapped it in for a known good battery (previously leaked) and I was done. How it works? (Except as noted) Light Buttons (Dimming Function) This ceiling fan remote control has dimming functions. I have bottom bulbs and smaller drop bulbs on top. Hold the bottom edge of the green button to dim or brighten the bottom lights. Press and hold the top of the green button to dim or brighten the top displays. Fan Speed Buttons: Low fan speed actually spins the fan at its lowest speed, medium works as advertised as does high. All in all I'm so glad I'll be ordering another pair just to have on hand. Remote Control Range: I tested the lighting and fan functions from at least 15 feet from the ceiling fan while standing. I think the range is GTG. Final thoughts and less professional advice Advice: I learned the hard way how to set the microswitches (4 small switches that set the remote control frequency for your ceiling fan) without writing down their initial positions. . Now I've gotten into the habit of writing down the DIP switch positions and the room the remote is being used in because I have other remotes and they basically look exactly the same. This allows me to always restore the original DIP switch settings in case I need to adjust them and test the fan in another room.

Pros
  • Lamps are not dimmable, in this case the remote only controls on/off switching.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
