Junk cheap made in China wire. Yes, I bought this wire 5 years ago, but it's been kept in a dark box in my garage ever since. Took it to hook up an amp in my truck and found heavy oxidation, every foot or so showing through the insulation. Was in a bind and installed it anyway as I didn't want to go to the store and nothing worked. It turned out to be a wire. I tried stripping the insulation in places where oxidation was occurring and the wire wasn't even there; just white dust. Replaced all that crap with a new cable and everything worked perfectly. Speaker cables should last 5+ years, right?
