I purchased this product to prevent mold and extend filter life in my swamp coolers. I have a smaller Artic Air desktop cooler and a larger standing Moor type cooler. I have been using this product in good faith since the coolers were purchased new. I think it controls the mold and I'm happy in that regard. I don't smell much though. I suppose if you're sensitive to perfume, that's probably fine. I didn't actually buy it because I wanted to perfume the room, so I don't really care. If you hope it smells, you might be disappointed. Also, I'm not sure if it makes much of a difference when it comes to preventing limescale build-up on the filter. I noticed that after only 3 months of use, deposits started appearing on my filter. It wasn't much, but enough to want to soak in vinegar water before the next warm season. It probably matters what type of water you use. I used city water and I think most humidifiers will tell you to use distilled water whenever possible. The swamp coolers are leaking too much water for me to do that. I was a bit disappointed with the deposits. I would still buy it again because I believe it prolongs the life of water filters and prevents mold as promised. No complaints here.
