It's hard to tell from the pictures but yes it's tinned copper in hairy threads. The wire jacket is easy to cut and provides good protection for the wire as it has a slight deflection and repulsion (springy). It's probably best to wear gloves as it would be easy to get a metal splinter. The metal core and wire jacket are crimped as desired. It's amazing how flexible the cable is. Probably not what you are used to. Returns the shape when released. You can see that one cable is bent and the other is straight. The bent one returns straight when released. It feels a little wavy, like cooked noodles.
