There is nothing shiny about this torch. Came in a zipped package. But I didn't make this purchase because of the marketing. I bought it because I sent my welder off the shop for repair and got a Type 17 air-cooled torch with gas valve for rent. I'm used to the water-cooled model 20 and it's a lot smaller. the same size as this wp-19f. I figured that for $11 it would help me get through a few weeks while I had a rental plane. I got to work, screwed it to the TIG wire and ignited the arc within a minute. I walked him through his steps for about 30 minutes. Wrap some beads on shop scraps like a 20 gauge sheet of stainless steel, 1/4 inch steel angle and even pass 145 amps running a few beads on the aluminum. Stable arc and does not overheat. The only thing I can find wrong is that the flexible neck is a bit soft. It bends very easily and doesn't seem to last all that long. Still not enough for one star for me.
