I bought this spotter through Amazon a few months ago and use it every time in different weather conditions. Although I can say that the optics are excellent, I believe that an objective review would be better compared to my other spotting scopes, namely: Steiner 24x80 military field sight (1989), Optolyth 15-45x80 folding spotter and Swarovski Habicht 20. - model 60x80 st (not older than 15 years, no hd glass). In terms of image quality (brightness, contrast, sharpness), this Zeiss device is significantly superior to Steiner, slightly better than Optolit, and probably this spotter is not inferior to Swarovski. Color fringes aren't as noticeable as the Steiner and Optolyth, but very, very, very slightly more than the Swarovski (only those very sensitive to chromatic aberration will notice the difference). The depth of field is about the same as Optolit and Svaro, but less than Steiner. Surprisingly, with a 65mm aperture, it has a wider field of view than the 80mm Steiner scope, but less than the other two 80mm scopes. All devices have more than adequate eye relief and are all easy to focus on. This Zeiss scope is as light and portable as a Steiner and Optolyth scope (perhaps less compact), yet looks and feels just as solid as a military-grade Steiner scope. With its light weight, portability, rugged construction (full rubber body like a Steiner) and top-of-the-line optics (from the lens to the zoom eyepiece), this Zeiss 18-45x65 Dialyt is an exceptional spotting scope and, in my humble opinion, really worth the price.
