I was able to use this with a 1/2" to 3/8" female ratchet adapter to compress the rear pistons of my car's rear calipers. Changing the rear brakes on my car was a lot harder and longer than the front ones. However, they are not as hard/bad as drum brakes, so I have nothing to complain about. The rear brake pads on my car were a year and a half old, so this tool was difficult to use at first. This tool became easier to use the next day when the brake piston was "loosened" when changing the rotor and reinstalling the caliper. standard ratchet. The screws can be flattened with the "square” side of the wrench. I highly recommend wearing cut resistant gloves when working on your car's rear brakes, especially when loosening bolts etc.
