Review on 📡 Comet Original GP-1 Dual Band Heavy-Duty Fiberglass Vertical Base Antenna - SO-239 Connector by Kyle Deel

I needed a dual band VHF antenna that could be placed in the attic (HOA restrictions). I am very happy with the results, especially on the 2M tape. My "installation" is not complete as it is now mounted on a Christmas tree stand that sits on the rafters just above the fluff. I'll soon be moving it about 7-8 feet higher over the air handling units and most air ducts. I think that affects the 70cm range results. On my built in SWR meter I've never seen much more than 1:1.5 at 70cm, although the Nano VNA results (attached) are much worse . There's plenty of room, and additional reinforcement would be nice. I'll probably pick up and keep this cute little camping antenna. UPDATE: The GP-1 antenna is now on a platform above the ventilation units and above most of the air ducts (6-7 inches higher). Re-analysis: The 2M range is now much smoother. The 70cm range is not much different. I have a dual band MFJ tuner on standby and I'm sure it will have no problem tuning both 1:1 to one of the frequencies on each band. The boost has really improved some of the longer range repeaters I can meet, at around 40-50 miles (haven't tried further yet) on the 2M band. 30 miles seems like the limit for 70cm, but it's pretty good for that range, although there's one at 39 miles that I can fix (no reports on that yet).
