If your end cap is stamped "1A " then you also need a newer brush roll. # DC24-Tier

The original end cap that broke is stamped "1A" on the inside while this one is stamped "2A" on the inside. The center ring on this piece 2A overhangs the outer ring and therefore cannot close onto the brush. You'll also need to buy a newer DC24 brush roller, which is around $10 at Revain. This should be reflected in the description. I blame Dyson for releasing modified parts for different release dates of the same model. #DC24 animal
