Great but LOUD!

This drive is cheap and fast (I mean cheap). I bought two of these for $70 because I convert all my old VHS home movies to digital files for backup. They came the same day as Prime. I have two problems, but only one is hard drive related, so I'll start with this: THIS HARD DRIVE IS NOISY! Seriously, I'm tempted to pull out my sound level meter and see how loud it is. To put this in perspective, when it first came online I thought my DVD drive had just found the disc. My computer is about 3 feet from my chair at ear level, which contributes to its volume, but it's easily twice as loud as my outgoing 2TB Western Digital. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to open up my computer and modify the mount in any way. I've built every PC I've owned since 1991 and was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of hard drive space, which led me to complaint number two, which actually involves Microsoft. The fact that Windows 10 doesn't automatically handle drives larger than 2TB is crazy (or lazy) or both. That's what I'm talking about standard hard drives, which by default use the MBR file system and run out of 2 terabyte addresses, so you can't get a partition larger than 2 TB. You have to switch it to GPT and that's a pain in @ss! I'm a self proclaimed geek and this was quite difficult to convert using 3rd party software. 2TB drives have been around for years. I can't imagine how many 3TB or larger drives are in computers and only 2TB are used because of the overhead. I used third-party software to do this, but even that wasn't a cakewalk. (Actually, it was the second software I tried). Buy one and secure your belongings! As a parent, I STRONGLY encourage you to store your children's photos/videos and not rely on the cloud to do it for you. Nothing beats a physical backup, and for $70 it's cheaper than a year of cloud usage and lasts for decades.
