The reason I claim this radio is the best is based on using the following radios1. Yeasu FT3D is a waste of money, but reception or transmission is poor.2. Yaesu ft-70dr is good but short battery life and transmit/receive is ok3. Baoefeng bf-f8hp is good but not US certified.4. Other GMRS Radios Now for the Yeasu FT-65, the range and performance is excellent and to give just one example my son was driving down the road towards the hill and I was at our house and there was no line of sight and through Traffic and flat terrain we were able to communicate up to a distance of 22 miles which could have been more as my son was driving uphill, the Tesla battery was dead but the FT65 still worked fine. Transmission and reception are very strong and very clear. The only problem is that programming this damn thing is very difficult so I bought a programming cable and now it is very easy to set up this radio. I made a MARS mod for emergencies and was able to communicate with my son via GMRS while hiking without a repeater. In addition, unlike other radios, the application of Mars Mod is simple and can be done via the keyboard. This radio performed well in my live test and I don't believe in 5 watts, 8 watts and signal testers and all. That's the real deal.
