Review on ๐Ÿ”ง 3mirrors Enhanced LS1 / LS Engines Harmonic Balancer Puller 551141 | GM 1997-Up | Crank Install Tool & Pulley Installer by Oscar Berry

Does the job and works for every combination I can think of.

It definitely serves its purpose. I liked the hex end option for removing the bolt from the crank, but it's not really necessary as it came out by hand when I was using it. If I could use an open-end wrench in my application, it would be very handy to hold the bolt so the motor doesn't turn while the tool is in use, which is why I like it. This makes the bolt a bit longer than necessary as my deep head bottomed out during installation just before I pulled the pulley all the way out even with both washers used. I have a stack of other washers that I have used with the bolt in the past. So I just added a few more that I like better than the short ones as I will also be using them to install thicker SFI approved balancers that will need extra length but will be prepared. Definitely better than using a long bolt or trying to use your initial torque to preload the bolt to tighten the balancer, which puts a lot of stress on the crank threads that you don't want to replace. This design wears down this inexpensive and easily replaceable tool, and also allows some high pressure grease to be applied under the nut and on the surface of the washer to make it smooth and act like oil. I like the large shoulder nut, very good quality and an improvement over other options I've seen. All in all a great kit and definitely worth buying to make sure your filaments stay intact. You may want extra shims or a thrust bearing, but this is optional.
