Well made but portions are larger than FDA recommended

Better than I expected. It's durable, well polished, no scratches or sharp edges. In addition, there are no spelling mistakes, as is often the case with cheap imported goods. It appears to be indestructible (except for harsh dish soap) and will likely outlive us all. However, the hole sizes are for 4 oz. servings, not 2 oz. Parts currently recommended by the FDA. (Italian cookbooks published before the obesity epidemic typically list 4 ounces as the standard serving size.) If you're eating pasta as a side dish with a serving of chicken, fish, or other protein, 2 ounces. about right. When pasta is the main course, most people find 2 ounces. a bit sparse. This measure should be viewed as a rough guide for space-shifting cooks to more consistently measure portions from meal to meal, rather than as a tool for making the "right” amount of nutritional pasta, and users need to adjust to this. the desired portion sizes. If you're on a diet, better use a scale that works with all types of pasta, not just spaghetti. Also keep in mind that most of the calories in pasta dishes come from the sauce, not the pasta itself, and Americans tend to serve pasta with a lot more sauce than Italians (same goes for pizza toppings).
