Review on Pocket Radar Coach Pro Level Training by Shawn Xayamonty

tennis anyone? in baseball

My Gamma SpeedTrac X radar recently stopped working, so I bought a pocket radar to use as a backup for measuring the relative speed of my (and friends) tennis courts. The best way I've found to measure feedrate is to mount it on a tripod just behind the reticle. Yes, you need to set it to "permanently on" and then use the recall button to scroll through the memory after dropping. It's a bit cumbersome compared to the Gamma SpeedTrac, which displays speed with a large red LED, but I often found the Gamma's red LED difficult to read in sunlight. Pros: o Ease of use o Portability (iPhone size) o Technology gives more accurate and consistent readings (compared to gamma) o It works Cons: o Expensive side (but worth it) o Battery life is short o No bluetooth connection ( to phone so you can see your speed instantly without walking) to network) Conclusion: o In general I like this radar much more than gamma for tennis serves

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Lightly dented
