So much fun playing bocce on our run down bocce field on the site of the new second home we bought in the Sierra foothills. This prompted us to plan a party to restore the bocce ball with a new layer of oyster flour, the labor of cleaning and cleaning the base, pressing down the top layer - labor that must be paid for weekends in the country and barbecues. We taught some friends how to play Bocci for the first time, and after one lesson and a few practice rounds, they started destroying us. We forgot they were bowlers and despite the bumps and inclines of the course, they scored.
