I have an eight gallon and it looks great the only problem is poor instructions I went online and still can't figure out how to set the tank timer for the lights , looks like I'll have plenty of company based on other comments. The tank stays clean, so I change the filter once a month. They say don't overfeed the fish, and it's true. I give them a pinch and watch them eat, when it's over I give them another pinch and see how quickly they get it so I can figure out how much they need. Oh, get all your fish at the same time, aquarium mates will get angry and may attack the newbie, stick to the one fish per gallon rule and make sure you have snails and catfish to scavenge and remove algae, oh and use a real plant, they add oxygen to the water and some fish nibble on them to supplement their diet
