I fell in price by buying a shaker earlier this year and was looking for something more expensive. I wasn't particularly looking for a blender style situation, but it had positive reviews and seemed a little better than what I was using. I've only just started using it so I can say that from the start it seems better made than my cheap shakers. The lid is securely fixed, as is the hinged lid. Well, based on my actual experience, I'd say this thing is almost too strong, especially if you're trying to mix according to the directions. Maybe you all have a funnel with you so you can fill the container with the lid closed to put protein powder in foils during a super tornado, but I don't have one, and when you press the button with the lid open, a third of the water of a full one runs out glass out of the container in one second. Lesson learned, despite the directions I would seriously advise against creating a whirlwind by attempting to add anything unless you are mixing up about 12 ounces of something. Next we have the container capsule. By design, this is an odd shape that fits under the lid of the main mug. That means you can't have a full container of something mixed with a pod. I take a prepared cup with me in the morning and then bring the powder for another. If I don't want to have 12 ounces of liquid again in the morning, I have to lug around this weird egg-shaped capsule with lots of powder. Tornado full throttle mode and the ability to attach the container to the bottom of the sorghum cup.
