I think the best thing about this iron is watching the digital temperature rise quickly. It only takes 15 seconds to heat up to 410 degrees. It's too hot for my hair so I had to learn how to set the temperature to 350 degrees. It wasn't easy to set the temperature; has a mind of its own. It has a lock, which is necessary because my hand pressed the settings several times when using it. I've used it several times for beach curls and straightening. The first time was for beachy curls. Even better than digital is that there is protection so I don't burn my hands or scalp. Plastic doesn't get hot enough to burn. I'm new to straighteners and have had issues with short plates and sticking in the past. I haven't had any problems with these panels because they take up most of the length of the tube. The cable is long. I used a longer one but this cable works fine. I had to find a piece of velcro from another iron to wrap around. The price is right, $33.
