My pinbox has a rear pivot and is keyed to the hitch so it can rotate. Because of this wedge, conical locks will not work. I then researched this type of lock, which is essentially a large cylinder with a kingpin inside. There are cheaper versions of this type, but they're not well rated and some people say they break when hit with a tow hitch. This lock won't do that. It is durable, has a carrying handle and is easy to use. It also works with pinboxes that rotate, like my Lippert turning point.
