Mixed Feelings About Mystery Thriller Suspense

Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum, who has seemed to get a little better at handling gaps over the course of a series of books, is more incompetent than usual in this latest book. , what partly due to how she thinks of Morelli and Ranger. More serious dumb tricks in this story are performed by other characters. The story starts out a little confusing as Stephanie has just returned early from a disastrous trip to Hawaii with a brown streak on her finger, suggesting she was wearing a ring. Both Morelli and Ranger were there and they're ticked off. All she will tell her friends is that "it's hard". On the way back to the plane - she left before the boys - her roommate, who couldn't make it back to the plane during the layover in Los Angeles, apparently put a photo in her bag. When she gets him home, she throws the boy's photo in her parents' trash. But suddenly the FBI and a bunch of menacing people want the photo and don't think she doesn't have it. Her missing neighbor is found dead in a dumpster in Los Angeles. Thankfully the situation in Hawaii has cleared up for us, but god what happened to the tension she wants to be with? Now she sleeps with both more freely. That aspect really bothered me, as did their current relationship with each of them. Although she loves both, her head says neither suits her and decides to cross the men off her list. But she remains heavily dependent on Morelli and Ranger for help and information. floor PG13; we know it happened, but we don't know the details. What's so special about Steph that both men are still hanging around? It's hard to maintain respect for them considering she doesn't seem to have much respect for their feelings. It has a lot of humor. There's a joke about Skip stealing Steph's car all the time. A new character is introduced who brews love potions and Lula thinks she accidentally took one and is now in love with one, a low IQ jump thinking all his Neanderthal flaws are cute. Steph was badly injured in an encounter with the villain, but her actions during the attack make FBI agents cringe when they watch the footage. Good for you. The situations are reused from previous books, including a couple of villains who follow her wherever she goes without doing anything. And she behaves kindly towards them because she constantly avoids them. This story is a little disturbing. While I enjoyed many aspects of it, the situation with the boys seemed odd, although that may be necessary for future stories. Lula seems easier to influence than usual. Steph's mother is drinking more openly now and seems to pull out the bottle as soon as Steph shows up. The book has one of those interesting endings that are characteristic of the series, where we are led to believe that something is going to happen at the beginning of the next book. Book. Of course, if you rip it out, is the book worth as much?
