Ideal for retractable brackets above the chimney, allows you to slide along the wall
but our chimney is a bit off center and the 16" center studs were slightly off to one side. That way you can securely mount another TV mount to the bolts and move it back and forth safely (if you loosen the bolts a bit it has a nice, secure, double U-bolt connection that makes it easy to slide in, eh You can then re-tighten the screw to keep the TV in place if you don't want to). The only downside is that I wish there was a hole in the middle of the post to attach a stud (it's solid metal right in the middle).
