Brilliant. Headphones from $350

Headphones from $350 (several pairs at this price (guaranteed replacement) and definitely nothing from Beats or Dre). I was worried about the severe quality loss. I've also been a professional mixing and mastering pro for over 20 years, so over the years I've seen and worked with quite a few different types of earbuds/headphones (in-ear and up) in different price ranges/ranges. But this review isn't going to compare these ULIX headphones to in-ear headphones ten times the retail price; To me it sounds like comparing Toyota to Porsche. Critically, the mid/bass range is a bit muddy, but in terms of "value for money" I was pleasantly surprised by a few things. My experience at this price point was (really) to expect hollow, thin sounding headphones out of the can, but these headphones have a respectable balance of low, mid (somewhat low/thin) and high range (with a propensity for low frequencies, but definitely not too flat frequencies). Not only is the sound quality very decent (again for the price) (which you might call $5, but more on that later); I've bought headphones between $10 and $35 that don't compare to them. The cable seems pretty durable (woven fiber) and the tips of the earbuds are magnetized. Obviously these aren't noise-canceling/noise-cancelling headphones (and I don't recall the seller making such a claim at all). In my opinion, expecting a $10 pair of headphones to come with "noise canceling” is like expecting a $1 Big Mac to come with bacon. $100.00 is more realistic if you're looking for noise-cancelling (I don't even think $10.00 noise-cancelling headphones exist). I would say I have better than the noise canceling as they come with an extra set of precision noise canceling. those headphones! In my opinion they set a new standard/expectation for budget headphones and by far the best $10 ($20 or $30) headphones I've ever bought. I would classify them as good in-ear or sports headphones with excellent value for money.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Modern
