I don't see any difference with OEM

A plastic part is included to make it easier to align the hinge on the glass. Be sure to identify the left hinge (driver's side) and right hinge (passenger's side). An installation video on YouTube suggested painting the inside of the hinge to slow the aging process and reduce metal fouling on the windows. I did it but regretted not painting it 24 hours earlier so it was completely dry by the time of installation. The same YouTube video recommends keeping the original nuts that connect to the underside of the roof. The OEM nuts have a wider flange and feel a little bulkier than the nuts in the kit. I hope the manufacturer upgrades this small detail to a very good product. Installation headache. I struggled to replace the rubber grommet on the underside of the roof. and with clamps on gas pressure springs. Again, reinstalling was more difficult than disassembling. I drilled the old part around the entire perimeter. between the transom and the window where the material was ductile and easily drillable. Just be careful not to drill through the glass. There may be a special tool to help with the rack clamps, but I snapped it together with pliers. It took about an hour to replace a loop. I decided to wait a few weeks for the second loop because it's still working and I had other things in my life that needed my attention. But I would recommend replacing a pair. The old ones have faded color, the new ones are shiny. And the old ones were weather damaged so I'm assuming the other hinge won't last long.
