I love this mannequin! I didn't buy it to practice weaving. I wanted one with a coarse hair texture. I don't lose with this head. I am a professional beautician so I know how to take care of mannequins. Here are some tips on how to prevent breakage and hair loss. Always brush your hair from the tips to the roots. Use some kind of oil on your hair as it is human hair. Most hair naturally contains hair oils. Shampoo and deep conditioner for hair when you receive it. I would recommend hair mayonnaise or cholesterol. They even use the regular mayonnaise you eat. Keep your hair straight when shampooing. If it gets tangled, it will be very difficult to untangle and you will end up with a lot of breakage. Deep conditioning by applying conditioner and putting on a plastic cap. Allow 2 hours or more if you have time. A deep state like this is only needed for the first time. This makes the hair softer and easier to comb. You can then use the shampoo and conditioner as usual. Allow your hair to air dry or blow dry on medium heat. Hope that helps. I have four mannequins and have never broken or shed.
