Bought this exercise bike for my son's winter white hamster. We are happy with the purchase. The hamster cage is in our son's room and this exercise bike is very quiet. At first our son complained about the noise, but it wasn't the wheel itself, it was the hamster's feet as it walked. My son got used to it quickly. We attached the wheel to our plastic basket by drilling a hole in the plastic basket. The wheel now takes up even less space in the cage and works just as well as it does on a stand. As I have seen on the hamster information pages, our hamster actually goes to the toilet on an exercise wheel. This wheel is very easy to clean with a cloth to remove urine and feces. We originally bought a 10" wheel thinking we were getting a Syrian hamster. It was too big for dwarf hamsters and when stopped, it slipped into the wheel and then fell off, which was dangerous. Be sure to buy a smaller impeller. for small hamsters.
