Review on Nuk3Y SP225 Extended Strike Nickel by Derrick Shah

Revainrating 3 out of 5

They are thinner than most common strike plates and will not fit without modification.

It works like a striker so I'm happy with that, but they are thinner metal than the strikers that come with kwikset lock sets. Because of this, they fit less than the factory strike plate groove in the Mastercraft door frames we bought in 2010. The doors are still closed and locked. Another issue is that the rear corners of the striker plate are missing the 1/4 inch that most striker plates (and factory door slots) have, so you'll either have to flatten the back of the striker plate to remove it, or grind the striker plates around corner radii of 1/4 inch. I was able to sand them to fit a belt sander but I don't think I would order them again.

Pros
  • SIZE: Overall length and width 2.25 x 2.25 inches.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
