Board arrived quickly and in excellent condition. This was my first MCU purchase that required a separate FTDI connector, and specifically my first Arduino Pro Mini purchase. As an interface I bought a Sparkfun FTDI base board. Neither package had a 90 degree or straight 6-pin connector, so I cut a 6-pin section from the longer lead and soldered it to the Pro Mini (short end of lead to the board). I connected an FTDI cable to the Arduino IDE through a MacBook Pro. I was able to select the Pro Mini from the Arduino AVR boards. You must choose a straight connector or a 90 degree connector, but either will work. The serial port controller was correct and was selected automatically. I downloaded the Blink sample code, compiled it, and uploaded it to the board. The sketch (code) worked immediately. No issues with the process and the board worked great. Thanks very much!
