Works well. I straighten my beard fairly easily on the 265 setting, so I've never used a glove. Easy to use, buttons are protected from accidental presses. The only reason I don't give this unit five stars is that it's almost impossible to clean. Over time, the plastic bristles pick up debris and hair that smells awful as the brush heats up and burns. 45 minutes to an hour with tweezers fixes everything, but it's a bit annoying. There may be cleaning instructions in the manual (which I lost after moving) but I'm missing them. The reason I give it 3 stars is that one of the plastic bristle covers broke after a few months of ownership. It's a bit annoying now, and I'm worried I might burn myself on the exposed metal if I'm not careful.
