I already have several 18v Ryobi products so this was an easy choice. It heats up quickly and the indicator lights let you know when it's up to temperature and when it's safe to cool down after turning it off. It will solder for hours on a small standard 18 volt battery. Its portability is great for working under a car's dash and it has a nice long cord. The metal safety coil/iron holder is great because you can "park" a hot iron safely under the dash so you don't damage the interior of the car. Simple and easy with security! Good product!
