This solder spreads well and is easily absorbed by copper strands. The diameter is best for smaller applications, I would go for the larger diameter if you really need to apply some solder. There's quite a lot on the roll, so if you build circuits every once in a while, that should last you for a while. Re-reading the product description, I do not agree with the temperature - or my soldering iron is COMPLETELY defective. I found it worked well around 300C, although it still cooled and clumped a little when touching large contacts (or anything that would suck heat out of it), so I bumped it to around 330C and it took care of it. . Anyway, damn it, you can't do anything at 180ยฐC, as the description suggests. Overall I've had no problems with it, absorbs wicks well and holds up well mechanically. It doesn't smoke (or smell) any different than any other solder I've used in the past.
