I guess it depends on what you want to use it for, but we use it to make milkshakes. There are 2 speeds on the handle: Low and High. Actually, it should be labeled "Very Tall" and "Super Tall". This stuff sucks very hard to the bottom of the cup when using a 32 ounce glass. If you use a 16-20 ounce glass, the milk just squirts everywhere. So, that's my nit; and this is based solely on our usage. If you are looking for a powerful, reliable handheld/emulsion blender, this is the one for you. If that were our goal, we would probably rate it 4-5 stars. Note that the hand blender we had previously had a setting from 1 to 10 in addition to the turbo button. It was great for us, to the point where the blade was attached and we had to throw it away.
