WARNING! It could be fake! Check the stats and wheel! See photos to compare original and fake.

UPDATE 08/25/18: My original got a bit dusty. The engine was almost rusted and blocked. I ordered a second one because it works so well. When I received it after my death, I realized it was fake! The engine is completely different. The motor also broke down within seconds. The photos above show a real Eheim Skim 350 and below is a fake I received with a broken impeller. ORIGINAL: Overall he did his job and did a very good job. For anyone saying this doesn't work on large tanks, this worked great on my planted 75 gallons. You just have to find the best place to place it in the aquarium. The sponge clogs up fairly quickly and needs to be cleaned every few days. Especially when there are plant residues floating in this reservoir that are sucked up. My problem is that after about 10 months it suddenly stopped working. I took it completely apart to see what was going on and noticed the magnet was starting to break down. I brushed it very well and tried to smooth it out. Worked a few more weeks and faltered again. This time no matter how hard I tried it didn't get clean enough to be smooth and now it doesn't work. All in all this is a great product. Judging by the price and the brand name, you'd think it would last at least a year. I'm reluctant to take another one, but unfortunately the competition seems to be neglecting it and the foil over it prevents the important gas exchange for my fish and plants.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
