🐠 EHEIM Skim 350 Aquatic Filter Review

Hi I have a 125 gallon tank. A layer of oil film over it and also particles. I bought it and within minutes it was all gone! What really helped was a wave generator pumping water into one corner from the other end. So place it in front of the wave generator and that will be more than enough! So this skimmer is just great. I originally had an ADA Vuppa-II but it died within 60 days after running 24/7. While waiting for the Vuppa to be repaired I ordered an Eheim 350 as a backup solution and was really impressed. I installed it in a 17 gallon fresh water tank and set it at 350 on the lowest setting. Does a good/perfect job! I have known about this product for some time as several of my friends have it in their aquariums. Removing the surface skim is really important and the skim is doing a good job so this week I decided to get one myself. As you can see from the attached video, the motor runs but the impeller does not turn properly. So I ordered a replacement which arrived the next day. UPDATE 08/25/18: My original got a bit dusty. The engine was almost rusted and blocked. I ordered a second one because it works so well. When I received it after my death, I realized it was fake! This small Eheim skimmer is my first experience with an Eheim product and a surface skimmer. I placed him in a high tech 55 gallon planting tank to remove the skin forming film that had accumulated on the water surface. We added this Eheim 350 surface skimmer pump to our oldest son's Fluval Spec V (5 gallon) reef system. The Spec V aquarium system has a very small return pump; Although the outlet is aimed at the water surface, it creates a slight wave at the surface, which is likely to reduce gas exchange at the surface.
