Review on Adjustable Heavy Duty Officemate 2-3 Hole Punch with Lever Handle, 32-Sheet Capacity, Black (90078) by Kristen Simpson

I just needed a solid, well made, adjustable 2 hole punch and as my choices were very limited here at Revain I decided me for trying this one out (mainly because of the high ratings). When it arrived it came in a thin plastic mailer/envelope and NOT a box to protect it in transit. As the box the item came in was badly damaged. In addition, the box was not only ripped and torn in several places, but also looked OLD/USED. But most important was that the punch itself was dirty/dusty and also looked used (especially the bottom part with all the scuffs and dirt). Sure it seemed that this is NOT new! But I decided to ignore it and give it a try. When I tried to see how well this would work for my project (punching two holes on a lot of 110lb cap for a case) to my surprise it left DARK GRAY marks on the cap around the holes. Are you kidding me? I couldn't believe it. It seemed that no matter what I did, dark gray patches remained. So everything back. Given this company and this product for the benefit of the doubt I figured maybe it was an accident so we just requested a refund with a replacement. Two days later we had exactly the same situation. The item was sent in a plastic bag/envelope, the box was destroyed, old, used looking and WORSE than the first. Exactly the same inside. Dirty/dusty, worn on bottom, again as needed. Gave him another chance to see if he had left the gray marks, and indeed he did. This is obviously ridiculous and unacceptable, so we're sending the SECOND one back as well and looking for a completely different two-hole punch (I've found that I don't really need "adjustable" after all, so I have more options to choose from). But be aware that this company sells OLD and/or USED punches which will be a waste of your time. unless, Don't mind dark gray marks on blank paper/projects.
