I'm buying a very good set of cameras ($500), each with excellent IR capabilities. The extra money spent on these cameras turned out to be a waste of money as the cameras were infested with bugs and spiders at night. I turned off the IR light on the camera and placed this IR light about 20 feet away from it. This solved the problem. I no longer have bugs swarming the camera and turning off the motion sensor. The LEDs on this lamp have a distinctive dim glow. The only downside to IR illuminators placed away from the camera is that they cast a shadow on the image. There were no shadows when using the camera's built-in IR. From spring to fall I used this IR light. In winter I turn on the IR on the camera. This solved my error problem.
