I'm buying a very good set of cameras ($500), each with excellent IR capabilities. The extra money spent on these cameras turned out to be a waste of money as the cameras were infested with bugs and spiders at night. I turned off the IR light on the camera and placed this IR light about 20 feet away from it. This solved the problem. I no longer have bugs swarming the camera and turning off the motion sensor. I bought two of these in August 2016. I installed them outside as additional IR lighting for my Amcrest cameras. These lights worked well for me. At times I thought I had a problem with one of them, but it turned out to be a flimsy extra power extension cord I ran between the power supply and the flashlight itself.
