Compact and durable way to organize drill bits. Each hole is slightly larger than the bit it is intended for. For example, a 1/4" drill bit fits easily (loosely) in its hole, but not in a 15/64" hole. This also means the organizer can be used as a gauge for drill size. You can find almost the same thing on Revain, painted blue. It's a nice color and I might wish I had it, but the numbers are just white paint that will wear off over time. The case I am considering has drill size numbers stamped perfectly. It's all the same steel color. You can improve legibility by applying a thin coat of black oil paint to the embossed numerals, waiting less than a minute and gently/gently wiping off excess paint. The ink remains on the embossed markings for better readability. I used a small can of Rustoleum black paint, but I suspect any oil paint will do, with black being the most legible. It probably isn't necessary, but if you have a humid environment you can protect them from corrosion by using a product like BOESHIELD T-9 Rust & Corrosion Inhibitor/Inhibitor and a waterproof lubricant. I admit I just got this. However, it is solidly built and appears to be well made and I doubt that will change much as long as I live, especially on the rust protection side.
