This electric mixer is lighter than the Kitchen Aid I borrowed from my daughter, but that's because the body is plastic instead of metal . The mallets are obviously not made entirely of metal, but they appear to be of high quality. Thanks to the suction cups on the base, the blender stays in place while you work. The mixer works well and I really like it, but I'm deducting a star because the beaters don't reach the bottom of the bowl. I made two different recipes and both had the same problem. Whipping butter and sugar together will only work if the beaters can reach the bottom of the bowl. I ended up solving the problem by putting another bowl I have with a less narrow bottom on the trivet. Another tip I'll share is that when storing your blender, place a kitchen towel or something similar under the suction cup legs so you don't have to struggle with the suction cups when trying to lift it.
