Remember, if you haven't changed the fuel filter for a long time, there is a chance that some crude oil will collect at the point where the fuel line is pressed against the filter. That's what I found when the tool didn't pull the cord out right away. I shot some WD40 into the fuel line clamps, waited a minute or two and the tool worked great. Also remember that the filter is filled with gas even when the fuel pump is off. So if you turn it sideways to pull it out, the gas will flow out. Be careful.
