This is a product whose previous reviews could save you a lot of headaches. Many have complained that the included screws are bad, so why take the risk. I installed it on a sliding glass door, so there was no point in risking additional hassle with a few screws. I ended up using: #6 x 1/2 on the door and #6 x 3/4 on the tree. 3/4 wouldn't fit through the door without resistance, so I just went down a size. 2) Measure and align accurately. I installed it on the door first (recommended) and got too close trying to install everything by hand. I got too close to the door frame. So I re-drilled the holes a little from the edge and below. Luckily you can't see the first 2 holes I drilled, but if I missed the second time there would be no way to close the 4 holes. Just put it up and your significant other, roommate, etc. will take a look too. It should open/close easily when you line it up. If it's just tight by hand, you probably have a problem. All in all it works perfectly now and will probably never be changed unless we redo the kitchen, so that's a good thing. You just have to be careful to get there.
