This Sharper Image Purify 5 air purifier comes with a small instruction manual; 18 pages in English, followed by a repetition in Spanish and French. Regardless, this air purifier is fairly intuitive to set up, with basic controls: on/off, four fan speeds, and a light to remind you when the carbon and HEPA filters need to be replaced. I have a huge dust problem where I live and during the day I run machines to clear the air of dust. The filters in my air conditioner and two dehumidifiers help remove some of the dust. I also use air purifiers. They help. This Sharper Image air purifier also helps. I know because I can see the heavy dust his filter catches. All my filters catch dust. Still, I've learned not to expect perfection. Despite all my cars, I still have a lot of dust. I don't find this Sharper Image air purifier too loud. With so many machines running, I'm used to their soothing hum. Actually I prefer it. I live in an apartment with thin walls. Sometimes I hear my neighbors talking. It's annoying. But these machines help drown out the conversation. Thus, this Sharper Image air purifier also serves as an air purifier AND a source of white noise. It's bulky, but not without its appeal. I think its Black Cube design looks cool and futuristic. It won't remove all the dust from your room (it won't remove anything in my experience). But it helps. And the (not too loud) noise is an added bonus.
