I had a nitrate problem in my tank and frequent water changes while helping a lot didn't get me where I wanted to. I added a pack of NitraZorb to my Penguin Bio-Wheel filter and within a few days the nitrate levels in the aquarium were within acceptable limits. I continued to use the sachets and the problem did not recur (even when I went back to the weekly water changes). I have found that the bags do not last as long as the packaging says. I had to change them monthly and recharge them weekly in between, even when the nitrite levels were under control. If I don't, they become slimy and stop working. However, they are worth the effort and expense as they give me peace of mind that my fish are living in a healthy environment.
