I literally followed the installation instructions. Within 5 minutes my 30 gallon tank was severely cloudy and milky. I could hardly see my fish? I'll remove the package immediately. The pack had a picture of the medium and they looked like small balls/granules. When I opened the package, the filter pack looked like it was filled with powder and not beads/granules? I purchased this product to help lower nitrate levels in my 10 gallon freshwater aquarium. The product does this, but it comes in such a bulky sealed bag that it literally took up all the space in my filter! To use it I had to remove the filter cartridge. I later figured out how to adjust the Bio-Bag filter cartridge to hold fewer pellets. That's enough for my small 10 liter aquarium. I had a nitrate problem in my tank and frequent water changes while helping a lot didn't get me where I wanted to. I added a pack of NitraZorb to my Penguin Bio-Wheel filter and within a few days the nitrate levels in the aquarium were within acceptable limits. I continued to use the sachets and the problem did not recur (even when I went back to the weekly water changes). I have found that the bags do not last as long as the packaging says.
