Bought two of these to use in a new workstation. My motherboard doesn't support fanout so I needed one with a PCIe switch. Works great, just two things you need to know: 1. For some reason, my BIOS setup program keeps saying that the two slots I installed these cards in are free. But when the OS boots up (CentOS Linux 8 or Windows 10), it sees the NVMe devices on those cards, and the PCIe switches on each card work fine. You should keep this in mind - it can prevent you from booting the operating system from the NVMe SSDs installed on these cards. In my case I use the SSDs installed on each card for data only, neither Windows nor Linux boot from them.2. The PCIe switch is definitely getting hot. Do not remove the cooler. I had to temporarily remove these cards and wait a minute for the heatsink to cool before I could do this. So far I've done some photo editing with data stored on the SSDs installed on these cards without any issues.
