Review on Protect and Transport Your Garmin eTrex with this Durable Carrying Case by Jonathan Abreu

OK - there are better configuration options than this one

I bought this for a Garmin eTrex 30 Edge.2. The built-in clip on the back works great and is stable. What I don't like: 1. The shape of the lid allows access to the navigation button on the front of the eTrex. I found it a little inconvenient at first because the cover is right next to the button, but it actually worked in the wild. It fits quite well, although it could be a little tighter.2. The hole on the bottom of the case does not line up with the lanyard on the bottom of the eTrex. Again, nothing important here, just a fit and finish.3. The clear plastic screen cover will fog up if water gets in (which is common on the Pac NW). I usually have to take it out of the case to see the screen clearly. It's annoying.4. Velcro is the most overrated external closure. Eventually, like all velcro/hook and loop fasteners, this one will wear out to the point that it will need to be replaced. In general, he does his job. In hindsight, you would probably buy a hard plastic Garmin clip that attaches to the back of the eTrex and a screen protector to protect the screen from scratches. The Garmin clip looks like it was made for a lower profile and would have avoided the dilemma of fogging up the entire screen. For hints on how I use the case: Camel Fourteen. I changed the strap from the old camera. It is approximately 8 inches long and is the perfect length to open for quick support while hiking. I really like this setup so I've included a photo for reference on the product detail page. Happy hiking!
