Perfect for tight beads. I bought these after I broke the plastic lever while changing a tire. I had no shutdown issues once I got them. I actually had to take my bike to a shop after my repair failed and the technician working on my bike commented that he was impressed that I was able to remove the tire at all. I've read that metal levers like this can scratch the rim, but I ride my bike around town so scratched rims are the least of my aesthetic concerns. That being said, if you're worried about scratches but still struggling with a tight bead, I might go for something with a metal core and plastic body.
