Review on 🐈 Smart Scoop Self-Cleaning Litter Box by Pet Zone - No Expensive Refills, Easy Waste Disposal for Cats, Compatible with Clumping Cat Litter by Lauren Naomi

Improved mousetrap

Like many reviewers, I've learned the pros and cons of automatic toilets. Like many others, I started Litter Maid many years ago. I've had 3 different models over the years, each lasting less time with each successive generation. I had to change the last one literally 5 times under a 1 year warranty. Litter Maid has several design flaws that guarantee failure. So search and research to find something that works better. let me be honest We have two male cats that are 20+ pounds each. Each tray is tested. I looked at each model and quickly came to the conclusion that I wouldn't pay $500 for any tray. I was looking for something under $150 that addresses the flaws in Litter Maid's design. The top two contenders were this one and Pet Safe Scoop Free. I read every review. watched videos on youtube. Pet Safe clearly had more reviews than Pet Zone and many positive reviews. In the end, I really couldn't stand the thought of shelling out an extra $40 for a reusable plastic litter box for Scoop Free. Between the price of disposable trays and having to shell out $40 for something that should be part of the base unit, I found it a little predatory. After seeing a well-made YouTube video at Pet Zone, I decided to give it a try. I've been using it for about a month now Pros: The design addresses the shortcomings of the Litter Maid 1. The rake and motor move as a whole. No electronic components are exposed to cat urine. Male cats tend to urinate or squirt back. The Litter Maid's rake has stop switch contacts on the back of the rake. The main cause of problems with the 6 units I've had.2. The rake and caterpillar are outside of the litter box. This way they stay dry and clean. Littergirl: Gear and caterpillar are in the shell. Vulnerable to urination and eventual accumulation of debris on equipment and rail. Ultimately, this leads to the calculator knocking off and jamming on one side or the other.3. With the drive motor and trash basket moving as a unit, there are no harnesses or ribbon cables to follow the movement of the rake. The maid has both, and both are documented sources of misfortune. Especially the ribbon cable. YouTube video search. A very common problem.4. Increased delay after use. This block waits 15 minutes. Garbage girl 12 minutes. It doesn't seem like much, but I've seen far fewer problems with clumps of litter breaking up during raking. I would really like to see the possibility of a delay of up to 30 minutes.5. Much quieter than Litter Maid6. Inserts in plastic bags. We use plastic bags for the products, not the bags provided. They fit better and are free.7. I haven't tested it, but one of the YouTube reviews says the drive motor is replaceable. If the cost is not high, it can be very useful Disadvantages: 1. While the rake has to pick up the waste to throw it in the bin, the L-shaped rake has to be lifted and turned over to stow it behind. There are times when waste #2 stays in front of the tray. This box appears to use a motion sensor rather than an IR sensor. This will cause the system to initiate the cleanup even if you're just filling the box with new junk.3. The cleaning cycle will not reset the timer if another cat uses the box during the countdown. With two cats we had a clean trigger when the kitten was in the box. Good that our cats are not shy cats: -04. As I mentioned above, it would be great if the delay could be adjusted for longer or shorter time periods. Different clump fillers behave differently and change over time after opening the box. Yes, Scoop Free has timing. We'll see how durable this device will be, but overall we're very happy with the design and functionality. We have minimal manual intervention. Much less than the maid. About every other day, we clean the rake when we empty the trash can and put a new plastic bag in it. We usually have to lift the rake and scoop out the spot where the cats pee behind it with our hands. There's not much you can do about that. Love the fact that I can take out the bag and tie it shut to seal in the waste and odor. The house smells a lot better these days.
