This is how I use it. I have a 38ft trailer that is stored in a warehouse with no power. So, so that the battery does not run out, I do the following.1. Disconnect with the battery switch2. Connect the solar charger to the test with alligator clips.3. Use very strong velcro over the propane tank caps.4. Attach the velcro on the solar panel to the propane tank. COVERI switched on the batteries and worked with it for a couple of days to run the fridge on gas. Batteries are required to power the fridge's AC panel, but that's about it. this little thing is very useful. NOTE: Remove before towing a trailer on the road. I doubt it will stay.
