Works so far, but not as well as expected.

Bought for a '96 Buick Lesabre. The plastic pieces on the side (mounting brackets) snap off to fit your specific car, it wasn't very clear in the instructions which should snap off. for my particular car but I finally found out I had to call a mechanic friend of mine to find out and he told me that you will usually rip off all but one of the tabs on each side regardless of your car. For other models, the instructions seem to be clearer. Unfortunately, the plastic pieces that were meant to remain detached have tightened and look like they will soon come loose on their own. This is because the compartment on the bottom (my setup was for a single din unit) is too deep and doesn't allow enough room for the cables from the back of the stereo to sit slightly under the unit, causing pressure on it the mounting brackets because there are just too many of them. . Given my choice of a huge hole under my stereo or a mismatched set, the pressure is more localized on the right side which makes the stereo stick out a little more on the right than on the left and that also causes it to shift a bit on the vertical axis is wrong. However the kit isn't really broken yet and I'm working on making a bezel to cover the hole where the tray is currently located so I can remove it and mount my stereo properly. While I really wanted a tray it's a shame they made it too deep for some cars.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Discontinued
