Instructions Nonsense

I followed the instructions exactly as shown in the figure. Well it didn't work out. So I emailed the company and they replied that you should use common sense when installing it. They also said I need to buy another one and take it to an authorized Metra dealer. They refused to guarantee this even after I sent photos of their targets marked with a symbol indicating it would not work as described. So it's best to throw the instructions on the heap because they have no idea what they're talking…

Waste of money

What a pile of smoking junk. I followed T's instructions. Removed all tabs as shown. Try to attach yourself to the deck; nothing lined up. Have you tried installing the deck into the dash after creating my own mounting holes and the tabs don't even come close to aligning with the dash slots? Who arranged this atrocity?!? Now that I've done exactly what the extremely convoluted manual says, of course I can't get it back BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED! Things that would be the best investment…

Matrix 04 did not fit - had to be cut.

I read reviews etc and even the Metra website says it's for Toyota Matrix / Pontiac Vibe 03-04. Normally connected to the radio. Compared to factory mounts, the required flanges for assembly have been included and the rest cut off. He simply refused to be fully inserted into the dashboard. I had to do an incredible amount of trimming on the back and bottom edges of the sides and even the flanges to eliminate all interference while maintaining as much strength as possible and I finally managed…

Works so far, but not as well as expected.

Bought for a '96 Buick Lesabre. The plastic pieces on the side (mounting brackets) snap off to fit your specific car, it wasn't very clear in the instructions which should snap off. for my particular car but I finally found out I had to call a mechanic friend of mine to find out and he told me that you will usually rip off all but one of the tabs on each side regardless of your car. For other models, the instructions seem to be clearer. Unfortunately, the plastic pieces that were meant to…

the product works fine.

Purchased for a 2004 Toyota Matrix. Definitely suitable for this make, model and year of car. However, the supplied instructions are incorrect. It says which petals to snap off for the matrix, but after I snapped them off and then removed my old radio, it turned out I had snapped off the wrong ones. The instructions clearly state which tabs to remove, but it's the wrong tabs. My take: first remove the old stereo and use the old bracket to see which tabs need to be broken off. Apart from the…
